Planning For Summer In Walkerton

The weatherman says its gonna be a cool Summer! Scattered showers, and cool temperatures will bring people outside more than usual June - September; according to the Farmers Almanac. Good thing too! So much in store for recreation and events!

We have the Summer Volleyball League, and Softball for adults! The Splash Pad, Little League Baseball, and Summer Youth Training Football Camp. We also have the John Glenn Theater Company "Starmakers Summer Camp" for youth from June 25th thru July 21st:

The Farmers Market is happening at the "New Kitchen Store" parking lot on Liberty St. every Thursday beginning at 4pm to 7pm! Then, we have the cooking class with Chef Brad happening at the Shiloh Woods Center on Quince Rd. The Koontz Lake Brewery patio is open for the special brews offered to cool you off on hot Summer nights!

Barbecues fill the air all over town from Scarborough Park to Koontz Lake. Don't forget to buy your BBQ meats from Randy at "The Koontz Lake Market!" Family reunions happening everywhere. And, the Independence Day celebrations are being scheduled for July 3rd. Beginning at Place Park, the parade down Roosevelt Rd. and on to the John Glenn High School lot will be complete with fireworks at dusk.

All Summer long Kramers beach on N. Tippecanoe Dr. at Koontz Lake will be open to cool off swimmers and sungoers! Koontz Lake is always a place to take a dip, watch water skiers, go fishing, or to party at the Sand Bar!
