Holiday Pop-Up Shop - Small Business Shopping Spree - Happening November To December Downtown

The curated show and bazaar for handmade products and small businesses will take place Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm at 611 Roosevelt Rd. thru December in the historic Victorian Walkerton Commercial District. Shoppers will find more than 20 vendors who will switch off from week to week finding just about anything you are looking for.

I got with Elizabeth Borys and Carol Trost who are organizers of the event. They sought out craftspeople who handmade much of the products locally. Elizabeth said she and Carol got the idea on a whim.

She advertised the idea to the public for interest and got a wonderful response. She said, "Over the course of our six weeks we will have more than twenty vendors."

Elizabeth added, "We are making the most of the storefront and using every bit of space for our vendors."

"We have many makers and artists, as well as direct sales reps."

"This will be our first pop up shop, of what I hope can be many to come."

"I’m looking forward to seeing the community come out and support each other this holiday season."

Also, she noted, "we will have a weekly 50/50 raffle as well as a raffle to support local families this season each week as well."

Today, was the "Grand Opening" with lots of support from local shoppers. Among vendors there you will find "Max And Maggie Designs," "Falcon Fire Ceramics," "Thirty One," "Avon," "Scentsy," "Color Street," "Baked Bean Kustoms," "Dragonfly Creations By Shay," "Home With Jayne," "Top Coat Creations," Corwin's Art & Images," and "Wildflower Aromatics." This is a time to really show support for the community and shop local. This is getting in touch with downtown Walkerton as an important commercial center.
