Celebrate The Vernal Equinox At Potato Creek State Park

Some of the first signs of Spring in the Walkerton Area are the sounds of the many bird species singing in the air! The Kankakee River Valley is home to North America's largest inland marsh full of so many types of birds! Bud’s start to appear in the loamy til, and worms emerge out of the ground. The snow might linger? And the ice begins melting and it’s still cold in the air. But, plenty to get involved especially at Potato Creek State Park. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has planned events for March to excite the fans of nature!
