Starting today, the biggest Walkerton midway party of the year has been narrowed down as a food celebration since, concerns for coronavirus safety. It has been divided with several main events to acknowledge the need for social distancing.
The celebration began today at 11am on the parking lot at the Walkerton Public Library in front of Urey Middle School lasting until 10pm. Attendees are offered to walk up to the midway to check out the attractions and are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. They also, have the option to drive-thru at the Walkerton United Methodist Church parking lot at 1000 Georgia St. to enjoy Hamburgers, Bratwursts, Homemade Chili, and desserts! That will go on tonight, tommorrow, and Sunday.
Friday night only you can drive to the John Glenn High School parking lot across the street for the Walkerton Epsilon Tri-Kappa "Pulled Pork Sandwich Meal" serving until 10pm at Georgia St. west parking lot. On Saturday beginning at 4pm attendees are invited to go to the Tyner IOOF (Indiana Organization Of Farmers) Hall Fish Fry at the Georgia St. west parking lot until the food runs out. Don't forget the Saturday morning Bernie Westhues Golf Outing sponsored by the Knights Of Columbus happening at the Whispering Pines Golf Course at 9am. Fees there are $75 per person. Proceeds are for kid scholarships.
Over $400,000 has been raised for John Glenn High School students since 2009. The festival is brought to you by Teachers Credit Union, Polygon Corporation, and R & B Car Company. The Falloween Committee is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of families, students, vendors, volunteers, carnival workers, and many patron supporters. They are guided by CDC requirements, St. Joseph County Health Department mandates.
